The First Coast unemployment rate fell slightly in June while other economic indicators showed a relatively flat economic picture for the month, according to a University of North Florida economist.
After seasonal adjustments, the local unemployment rate dropped from 8.23 percent in May to 7.95 percent in June, slightly lower than the national rate of 8.2 percent. UNF economist Paul Mason said the dip is likely due to college and high school students and graduates entering the workforce for the summer.
