The latest campaign financial reports were due this week in the races for Jacksonville Beach City Council and mayor’s races and the competition is heating up.
According to the City Clerk’s office, candidates in the race to replace current and term-limited Mayor Fland Sharp have raised more than $10,000 each. And a third candidate has entered the race.
Current City Councilwoman Penny Christian reports that she’s raised about $15,000. She is vacating her council seat due to term limits. Christian has only spent about $2,500 on campaign expenditures so far.
