A 27-year-old Southside woman hit and killed Tuesday morning on the Hart Expressway was an apparent suicide, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Police said the woman was crossing the highway about 10 a.m. when a garbage truck hit her in the northbound lanes. Officers investigating the accident heard someone screaming from the Peppertree apartment complex just south of the expressway at 2800 University Blvd. S.
