An email scam in the name of Comcast Xfinity is circulating the First Coast seeking to lure recipients into divulging detailed financial information through a bogus web site.
Comcast officials confirmed Friday that the email being sent to broadband customers falsely reports to the customer that recent payments were not processed. Then the email directs the email recipient to a link to a web site that has nothing to do with Comcast and asks the recipient to enter credit card numbers, phone numbers and banking information.
